mindit chats with Ioana Ionescu: “No one’s in it alone, and we’re all motivated to help each other grow.”

What’s something that happened to you that can only happen here? What’s unique about mindit.io?

One day, I was completely stuck on a complex data issue, and within an hour, three different teammates jumped in to help, without me even asking. That’s what’s unique here: the sense of community and teamwork. No one’s in it alone, and we’re all motivated to help each other grow. It’s like a hardworking family where everyone has each other’s back, and we push each other to reach new heights together. It is inspiring to see other colleagues jumping to help you even if they have other things to do.

How have you grown professionally while on our team?

I came in knowing data, but I’ve since mastered the art of storytelling through dashboards. I feel that I have grown a lot professionally since I have been in the BI team, I have learned and continue to learn new things every day.

What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here?

It was the first time I asked for help and instead of a simple answer, I got a full-on brainstorming session. That’s when I realized this is a place where you don’t just do your job – you get inspired to level up. I found here motivated and hardworking people who inspire me.

How would you describe an ideal day at work?

An ideal day starts with coffee strong enough to power the servers, followed by productive morning meetings that actually end on time, and a few “aha!” moments in the afternoon when my data insights save the day. Oh, and cake in the kitchen. Always cake for a good day.

In one word, how would you describe your team?

Powerhouse. We’re basically the Avengers, but with dashboards. Our superpower is turning chaos into clarity. We understand the business requirements and transform them into useful dashboards for them.

If you could swap jobs with anyone in mindit.io for a day, who would it be and why?

I’d swap with someone in management – just to understand how they manage to make “quarterly results” sound so glamorous. I imagine the most surprising part would be how much creativity goes into making data feel exciting.

It would be fascinating to see how they juggle a million priorities while keeping the company moving forward. I imagine the most surprising part would be how much time they spend making decisions with incomplete information, and somehow still manage to steer the ship in the right direction. Plus, I’d finally learn the secret to surviving back-to-back meetings all day without turning into a spreadsheet myself

Which benefits are your favorite and why?

The travel budget, mental health days off, Nomad, work from home – I use them all and find them very useful.

The work from home and flexible work hours are a life-saver! They allow me to schedule deep work time and random snack breaks at odd hours, while also keeping up with life outside work.

What advice would you give anyone thinking about joining mindit.io?

Come for the job description, stay for the people. it’s a company that supports growth, gets involved in employees and their well-being, and I recommend it with confidence!

If you’re looking for a place that truly invests in your growth and cares about your well-being, this is the company for you. It’s not just about the work you do, it’s about the support you get along the way. Here, you’re encouraged to challenge yourself, and the company actively gets involved in helping you succeed – whether it’s through mentorship, professional development, or just genuinely caring about your well-being. I recommend it with confidence – you’ll be joining a team that wants you to thrive.

What is the mindit.io value you feel the most and how you do you live it?

Innovation. Whether it’s finding new ways to visualize data or optimizing processes, there’s always room to challenge the status quo, and I love that we’re encouraged to do that daily.

If you could do anything else for a living, in an alternative universe, what would that be?

In another universe, I’d be a travel blogger – data analytics, but for sunsets and street food. Think “heat maps” of the best coffee shops in Europe!

What movie, book, or TV show would you recommend? How do you relax and unwind?

I’d recommend Dune. It’s a sci-fi masterpiece that blends political intrigue, epic battles, and philosophical reflections about leadership, ecology, and survival. Dune is a world where strategy and power struggles rule, and every decision has layers of consequence – much like the business world, but with more desert. I also enjoyed watching House of Dragons, Rings of Power, Furiosa (Mad Max Saga).

Who would you tag next to be interviewed by us?

I would tag Elena Bondoc – my partner in crime.
