mindit chats with Roxana Staneiu: “I feel that exploring so many different and exciting aspects of my professional journey is something that sets mindit.io apart.”

What’s something that happened to you that can only happen here? What’s unique about mindit.io?

I feel that exploring so many different and exciting aspects of my professional journey is something that sets mindit.io apart. I’ve always felt that I have the freedom to try out new things and grow both personally and professionally while getting out of that comfort zone and expand my role and my impact. It’s really nice because you have people that have your back, so you feel empowered.

How have you grown professionally while on our team?

I’ve become more confident and aware of the great impact we have as a team. Working with passionate, smart and talented people really inspire me and I learn from them every day. I like to say that my mission is with, for, and about people, and I’m very lucky to have found in mindit.io context in which I feel I can help people and build long-lasting relations.

What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here?

When I was in our Iasi office with a few colleagues, on a December night, and we were preparing the Saint Nicholas gifts for 200 kids for which we try to bring some joy in the holidays season. We were listening to carols, soring cloths and sweets, writing heartfelt messages for the kids and preparing everything for the next morning when we visited the children. It’s just one of many moments when I feel we come together as a community and really change something together and be there for others.

How would you describe an ideal day at work?

Coffee and laughing with my team(s), preparing a demo for our partners and then rock it together, while thinking already of other 5 new ideas of what else we can build.

In one word, how would you describe your team?

My rock.

If you could swap jobs with anyone in mindit.io for a day, who would it be and why? What do you think would be the most surprising thing about their role?

I think I’d like to do it with Ionut Vacariu and be a software developer for 1 day. It’s impressive how Ionut finds a solution for everything and he keeps a cool and chill attitude even when things are going a bit crazy. He’s really passionate about finding solutions to problems and he does that really well, so I’d like to step in his shoes and do some magic with coding.

Which benefits are your favorite and why?

Flexibility in working from anywhere, because this allows us to travel and work at the same time and be real nomads. Also, I love that we offer autonomy in the way we are designing our roles, as well as mental health benefits, such as therapy, which I’m really glad we cover for all mindit.io people that want that.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about joining mindit.io?

Be ready to learn a lot, challenge yourself, get out of the comfort zone, have a lot of fun and find cool people. It’s a real journey. Check out the fantastic opportunities in our OPEN ROLES, and think about taking the plunge to be part of our team today!

What is the mindit.io value you feel the most and how you do you live it?

Authentic. I feel that I become a better version of myself and I’m the same person here as in my personal life, and for me this is very important. To work in a place where you feel you can be your true self.

If you could do anything else for a living, in an alternative universe, what would that be?

I’d be a writer, telling the stories of the people I meet while traveling.

What movie, book, or TV show would you recommend? How do you relax and unwind?

Bridge of Spies – I remember that I saw it in the cinema when it aired, and immediately after I left the cinema room, I said to my friends “Let’s watch it again”. It’s more than a story, it’s a lesson.

Who would you tag next to be interviewed by us?

Madalina Pana, you’re next!
