What’s something that happened to you that can only happen here? What’s unique about mindit.io?
The perception about failing. It was the first time that I saw a company that was not focused only on how the employees cand achieve some KPIs or how to reach some targets, but on how people can evolve by accepting that they are not perfect, that they can make sometimes mistakes. Here, the important part is what we learn from our experiences. At mindit.io, “to fail” is just another experience that helps us grow, and I think that this is something that it is different from other companies.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
I have learned a lot since I joined mindit.io, I am still learning, and I think that I will never stop, with every new experience that comes by. I have improved my soft skills, like communication or time management, and I’m still working on this part, and I also managed to grow on the technical part. I am very happy that I have obtained a certification in the QA field, using the budget that we have allocated per year, for our progress.
What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here?
When I saw that people here are relaxed, easy to work with and anytime I had a question, I could talk about it without being worried if it is ok or not to ask. Also, seeing that other companies are going back to a 9 – 18 schedule, but we continue the remote work, and more, we are encouraged to work from everywhere.
How would you describe an ideal day at work?
Even if we are not bound to come to the office, I like when I have the chance to go by at one of our houses. I like to go to the coffee shop nearby and to start my day with a fresh coffee because life starts only after it. I also really enjoy the small talks with my colleagues, but also the days when we work hard and we are appreciated for what we did.
In one word, how would you describe your team?
F. R. I. E. N. D. S. (“I’ll be there for you” theme in the background)
If you could swap jobs with anyone in mindit.io for a day, who would it be and why? What do you think would be the most surprising thing about their role?
Madalina Pana. I want to see how is the team from the perspective of our PM.
Which benefits are your favorite and why?
Our learning budget. It is nice to see that a company cares about the quality of the people that are a part of it, and I think that constant education is the only way to a sustainable growth.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about joining mindit.io?
When someone wants to change something (in this case to join a new company), the fear of unknow and the idea that “anyway I won’t find something better there” can be a stop to the process, but maybe, even if a change can be scarry, sometimes a leap of faith it is all that takes to see that you can actually find something better. Just give it a try!
Check out the fantastic opportunities in our OPEN ROLES, and think about taking the plunge to be part of our team today!
What is the mindit.io value you feel the most and how you do you live it?
I will chose “Team”. I like to work surrounded by people that communicates easily and supports each one, during the hard times, but also in the fun times.
If you could do anything else for a living, in an alternative universe, what would that be?
Definitely I would work at the Ministry of Magic, as an Auror.
What movie, book, or TV show would you recommend? How do you relax and unwind?
Of course, first of all, some classics: for movies and books: Harry Potter series, FRIENDS as a TV show.
For books I like the ones that are inspired from the real life, or journals, things that actually happened. One of the books that comes to my mind, when I’m asked about recommendations is : “Scrisori catre Monica” (vol 1 and 2). The two volumes are not only a history lesson, but also a lesson about how much can a mother sacrifice for her only child. Also, I think that everybody should read “The Little Prince”.
There are a lot of movies that I like, but I will make a very short list: Amélie, Lemony Snicket’s or The Pale Blue Eye. I also like Romanian old movies.
Who would you tag next to be interviewed by us?
