1. What’s something that happened to you that can only happen here? What’s unique about mindit.io?
My journey at mindit.io started in a unique way. Last March, I made a big decision to leave Ukraine because of the war because I got a chance to work as a Quality Assurance intern at mindit.io, even though I had just finished a QA course and didn’t have much professional experience. What motivated me was the chance to provide my son with a safe place away from the dangers of war. I packed all our things into one suitcase, took my son, and we headed to Bucharest.
I didn’t expect people from all over the world to support Ukraine like they did. I was really surprised by how friendly and kind the people in Romania and from different countries were to us. The people I work with at mindit.io welcomed us warmly and took care of us. During my time here, I’ve met many amazing people & being in Romania has given me a feeling of warmth and comfort that I didn’t anticipate. I’m very happy and will always be thankful for the kindness and opportunities we’ve been given. mindit.io and Romania will always have a special place in my heart.
2. How have you grown professionally while on our team?
Without a doubt, I’ve experienced substantial growth since joining the team. At the outset, it felt like stepping into a world of wonder, much like Disneyland. Everything was new – the language, culture, communication style, and way of life. Adapting to this new environment was initially challenging, but I persisted and adjusted.
One significant area of improvement has been my English language skills. Previously, I mainly used English for travel, but now it’s an integral part of my daily communication. I’ve also picked up skills in various software programs beyond my usual tasks. Currently, I’m actively learning SQL and am excited to apply this knowledge to future projects.
One aspect I truly appreciate here is the strong emphasis on lifelong learning. The freedom to choose and explore subjects for personal and professional development is incredibly valuable.
3. What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here?
I strongly connect with mindit.io’s philosophy, which prioritizes kindness and people.
What brings me the greatest happiness is the genuine willingness to assist others and the perfect occasion is the monthly Magic Box initiative and our collective effort to care for the environment truly embody this spirit. Whether it involves preserving our environment or participating in cleanup efforts for coastal or mountainous areas, I discover fulfillment and joy in these activities. My son and I are eager to participate in these initiatives, grateful for the chance to be among individuals who are equally passionate about aiding others and safeguarding our planet.
4. How would you describe an ideal day at work?
An ideal workday for me begins with a peaceful moment in the morning, sipping coffee and enjoying a croissant in the calm before the day. This quiet start allows me to gather my thoughts and prepare for the day ahead.
Usually, my team and I agree when we can all come into the office. It’s wonderful being with my colleagues, engaging in fruitful discussions, team collaborations, sharing laughter, and grooving to great tunes. It’s these small moments that make the workday truly exceptional.

Cheer-squad! They’re the ultimate pom-pom of support!
6. If you could swap jobs with anyone in mindit.io for a day, who would it be and why? What do you think would be the most surprising thing about their role?
If I had the chance to swap jobs for a day, I would choose the role of a Business Analyst. This choice is influenced by my previous acquaintance with this topic during the mentoring program with Oana Negoita. I found the role interesting as I enjoy writing, analyzing, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending solutions that can aid the organization in reaching its objectives.
I think the most surprising aspect of this role will be the difficult balance between understanding and meeting the business needs and technical aspects of projects. Effectively bridging this gap and ensuring that the proposed solutions are not only profitable from a business perspective but also technically feasible would be a significant challenge and learning experience.
7. Which benefits are your favorite and why?
Among the array of benefits, my top favorites are flexibility in working hours, remote setup and of course Nomad. These benefits collectively enhance our work experience, allowing to create a lifestyle that aligns with my goals and aspirations.

I can say collaboration – growing together. It’s like realizing that we’re all in this hilarious game together, and the more we team up and embrace our unique skills, the bigger the laughs and victories we’ll share in the mindit.io journey!
10. If you could do anything else for a living, in an alternative universe, what would that be?
In an alternate universe, if I had the chance to choose a different career, I would unquestionably become a choreographer-producer.
Music and dance are my passions, and my house is always filled with music.
Around 15 years ago, I seriously considered delving into this profession. My imagination is vivid, and whenever music plays, I visualize numerous choreographic elements for each song. It’s a realm where creativity and rhythm intertwine, and I’d love to bring those visions to life.
11. What movie, book, or TV show would you recommend? How do you relax and unwind?
I’m all about the books rather than the screens, especially lately, diving headfirst into Ukrainian classical literature.
And oh, the mountains! They’re my escape pod for relaxation. Despite our time constraints, we’ve managed to visit the mountains frequently, and it’s reminiscent of my home, making it a special retreat.
My favorite place is Cantacuzino Castle. I revel in sipping a cappuccino while having a serious mountain-peeping session.
The next place I want to visit is the famous Transfagarasan. Sadly, I lack wheels, so if you’re up for some mountain adventure and have a vehicle, why not take us there, and we’ll conquer the peaks of hilarity together! .
