What’s something that happened to you that can only happen here? What’s unique about mindit.io?
I think it would be the easiness and openness you can reach out to anyone (yes, anyone). Being a flat organization, mindit offers you the chance to interact freely with everyone of its 250+ people. No matter if it’s an advice you need, a joke you found funny or asking what’s the weather like today. I didn’t encounter this before and I find it offers a new perspective when opening the laptop everyday.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
I’ve grown alongside mindit. Being part of the Marketing department I got to see the behind the scenes of an idea, from it’s inception to the design process to the go-to-market strategy. I feel this has offered me insights into how a product is thought, refined & marketed.
What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here?
On the first day, really. When I joined my first meeting with my two other colleagues (our team has grown since then), and was greeted with big smiles, jokes & felt like my opinion mattered. This fueled my desire to contribute, innovate & learn better jokes to make everyone laugh in our daily meetings.
How would you describe an ideal day at work?
My day starts with a run or a gym session. It keeps my body & mind active, which translates into what I do at work. Then I get to talk with my team, about our day, our past evening or about what are our tasks for the day. Nothing best than a good laugh to start your day.
In one word, how would you describe your team?
Zany (yes, that’s a real word). “Zany” – it captures the mix of funny, wild, unpredictable, and friendly energy.
If you could swap jobs with anyone in mindit.io for a day, who would it be and why?
/cmd swapRoles(marketing.Daniel, dev.teamMember) = true
> Error: Unexpected token ‘Daniel’ in developer environment.
> Warning: Insufficient coffee detected.
> Debugging skills not found.
> Reverting changes…
(yes, I’d swap with a developer to finally see what Python is about).
Which benefits are your favorite and why?
Work from anywhere, easily. The feeling of not being constrained to go to the office (but still having the ability to if you desire) is the best. This, and our minditNomad houses (this is a benefit I haven’t found anywhere else and it’s awesome – I mean free accommodation right?)
What advice would you give anyone thinking about joining mindit.io?
If you feel you are unsure, send us a message 🙂 Really, reaching out with whatever question you have may put your mind at ease. We’re friendly!
Check out the fantastic opportunities in our OPEN ROLES, and think about taking the plunge to be part of our team today!
What is the mindit.io value you feel the most and how do you live it?
Authentic! When I’m on/off work!
If you could do anything else for a living, in an alternative universe, what would that be?
If you’ve played Cyberpunk 2077, I’d be a mercenary selling and upgrading mods for a living (in a secret bunker in the desert of course).
What movie, book, or TV show would you recommend? How do you relax and unwind?
With books it’d have to be Blake Crouch (Dark Matter, Recursion, Upgrade). Do yourself a favour, read them! And Drew Magary – The Hike, and for something more unconventional Michael Finkel – The Art Thief.
TV Shows – Twin Peaks, Sons of Anarchy, Californication, The Wire, The Sopranos.
Movies – Conclave, Porco Rosso, Her, DogMan, Dune, too many to list them all.
Who would you tag next to be interviewed by us?
I’d like to complete the trifecta (even though we’re more than three – I always wanted to say that) with Florin Pop!
