What’s something that happened to you that can only happen here? What’s unique about mindit.io?
What makes mindit.io unique is its people. Everyone is unique and can offer their own experiences, knowledge, and skills that others may not possess. A variety of personalities and age groups form a team that can bring creativity and a broad range of ideas to the table.
How have you grown professionally while on our team?
Before coming here I always worked alone so for me, it was a totally new experience. I learned how to work in a team, and my colleagues always helped and supported me. They helped me develop my skills and l learned a lot from them.
What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work here?
I don’t know if it was a ”moment” when I realized that, it was more like a ”process” of realization than a moment. Anyway, it took me a while because (as I said earlier) I always worked alone and I made my own schedule so it was difficult for me to adapt to a ”rigid”, 8 hours a day, program.
How would you describe an ideal day at work?
A day when I wake up, drink my coffee and go back to sleep (joking). I like interacting with people so my ideal workdays in the HR department tend to be relatively simple: speaking with people, getting to know them and helping them.
In one word, how would you describe your team?
Teamwork.
If you could swap jobs with anyone in mindit.io for a day, who would it be and why? What do you think would be the most surprising thing about their role?
I think I would like to swap jobs with somebody from the recruitment team. As I said, I like to interact with people, speak to them and know them. Also I would like to see what a Team Manager does.
Which benefits are your favorite and why?
My favorite benefits are minditNomad (because you can travel and work) and Bookster, because I love reading.
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about joining mindit.io?
JUST DO IT! 😀
Check out the fantastic opportunities in our OPEN ROLES, and think about taking the plunge to be part of our team today!
What is the mindit.io value you feel the most and how you do you live it?
Teamwork. I think a good team is needed to deliver strong solutions and create a positive working environment. Having good teamwork can be very important in any business and it typically leads to high levels of productivity.
If you could do anything else for a living, in an alternative universe, what would that be?
I love to travel so I think I would do something in this direction. Maybe a traveling Vlogger or a travel organizer.
What movie, book, or TV show would you recommend? How do you relax and unwind?
I relax by reading, listening to music, or gaming. I have many books that I love but here I thought of recommending some ”unorthodox” books and not the ”classics” that everybody, at least heard of them. So my recommendations are:
- One Piece a manga that last year had a very successful Netflix adaptation;
- Monarch of Evernight ” is a steampunk fantasy novel with Western fantasy elements like vampires, werewolves, arachnids, and a sniper protagonist. The story is mature, dark, and involves deep intricate plots centered around large-scale wars and politics.”
- Demon Hunter is a dystopian light novel with fantasy elements: “Following the nuclear warfare, massacre extended towards the entire world. The order of mankind completely collapsed, and survival of the fittest became the ultimate principle.”
- Desolate Era is a fantasy novel heavily influenced by Chinese myths and legends (at least in the first half)
- Battle Through the Heavens is also a fantasy novel written by an Asian author.
- City of Sin: “Every drop of this family bloodline is stained with sin. They are the embodiment of contradiction; calm yet maniacal, with great memories yet often forgetful. They pledge themselves to their dreams yet often compromise, are angels that are also devils… It’s why I hate them. And also love them. The only hope of his family is a youth with both the blood of elves and devils.”
As for the movie recommendations, I will avoid the ”big” ones (Pirates of the Caribbean, Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Forest Gump, Lord of the Rings, The Avengers, Fight Club, or Schindler’s List) and I’ll go for the ”smaller” that impressed me:
- Mr. Nobody the 2009 movie is a little confusing in the beginning but it explains everything at the end.
- Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, can’t miss with Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr. together.
- Snatch ”is a 2000 crime comedy film written and directed by Guy Ritchie, featuring an ensemble cast. Set in the London criminal underworld, the film contains two intertwined plots: one dealing with the search for a stolen diamond, the other with a small-time boxing promoter (Jason Statham) who finds himself under the thumb of a ruthless gangster (Alan Ford) who is ready and willing to have his subordinates carry out severe and sadistic acts of violence.”
- The Truman Show is a 1998 American psychological comedy-drama film written and co-produced by Andrew Niccol with directed by Peter Weir.
- Syn City is for those who like dark movies based on a comic book series.
- V for Vendetta, just watch it.
- Maverick is a 1994 American Western comedy film starring Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, and James Garner. Based on the 1957–1962 television series of the same name created by Roy Huggins and originally starring James Garner, the film stars Gibson as Bret Maverick, a card player and con artist who collects money in order to enter a high-stakes poker game. He is joined in his adventure by Annabelle Bransford (Foster), another con artist, and Marshal Zane Cooper (Garner), a lawman.
- Baaria: “The film recounts life in the Sicilian town of Bagheria (known as Baarìa in Sicilian), from the 1930s to the 1980s, through the eyes of lovers Peppino (Francesco Scianna) and Mannina (Margareth Madè). A Sicilian family depicted across three generations: from Cicco to his son Peppino to his grandson Pietro.”
- The day the earth stood still;
- Titanic Vals with Grigore Vasiliu Birlic
- Telegrame with Grigore Vasiliu Birlic (or any other movies with Birlic)
