Initially developed 20 years ago, Medical Connector faced limitations in adapting to modern technologies. Key challenges included:

The project followed a phased approach: discovery and process mapping, technical documentation, and iterative delivery. mindit.io refactored both the frontend (using Angular) and backend (Java 11, Spring Boot 2), consolidating platform logic into a scalable and secure API. OpenAPI was leveraged for UI and backend collaboration, and additional tools like Spring Security LDAP, MapStruct, and Hibernate ensured maintainability and security. Key features included message attachments, inbox rules, message tracking, delivery prioritization, and dashboards for hospital-wide usage.
