International Mentoring Day, celebrated on January 17, serves as a poignant reminder of mentoring’s vital role in shaping a brighter future. It’s an ideal time to reflect on how mentoring enriches lives, not just on this special day but always.
At mindit.io, we consider mentoring a form of growth, for both mentee and mentor. Last year, we implemented two “Mind your Growth” mentoring programs where 112 participants (mentors and mentees), contributed to each other’s growth and development. We’re already planning this year’s mentoring program, and we couldn’t be more excited about the results we’ll reach in 2024.
Mentoring embodies the spirit of mutual upliftment, forging strong, positive, and enduring bonds. It highlights the importance of improving lives, offering significant support to those who feel isolated, marginalized, or overlooked. Through mentoring, we continue to advance development, peace, and human rights. It’s truly a pathway to building a more inclusive and improved world for everyone.
Here’s what some of our mentees and mentors had to say about the mindit.io “Mind your Growth” programs:
”I am very happy with the mentoring program; it has brought me a lot of light.”
“Regarding the program, I am incredibly happy. My mentor and I created a great pair, and he helped me a lot with my problems, both professional and personal.”
“The mentoring program seems super cool to me, and I like it a lot. My mentor is super cool, and I know if it were not for this mentorship, I could not get the opportunity to have his attention and time as he is so busy.”
“My mentor is everything I could wish for, and I thank you for this opportunity.”
The upcoming edition of our “Mind your Growth” mentoring program is set to commence later this year. We’re dedicating the intervening time to meticulously plan and enhance the program, aiming to deliver an even more impactful experience for both mentors and mentees.
We’ve thoroughly reviewed feedback from participants, identifying key action points from their constructive and encouraging insights, in order to build a bigger and better mentoring program for everyone.
