A heartwarming transformation has taken place at School no 2 in Tanganu, Cernica, as a once-empty room has been revitalized into a delightful haven for children to read, borrow books, and enjoy quality time together. The investment made in renovation, decoration, and furniture has birthed a welcoming and educational space for these youngsters
Tanganu faces socio-economic challenges, evident in high rates of absenteeism and school dropouts. However, the dedicated school staff, led by the principal and teachers, rallied together to clean and refurbish this space. Last year, the students were surprised with a beautifully lit Christmas tree in the school hall, beneath which lay a fully furnished library room. The collaborative efforts of our volunteers and “Teach for Romania” created this magical space, which continues to captivate and inspire the young learners.
This inviting environment has stirred immense excitement among the children. The library has become a favorite spot, and the prospect of spending time there brings sheer delight. Many children have already eagerly borrowed books, and teachers are planning to organize English or reading circles for their respective classes.
This initiative not only offers a place to read and learn but also cultivates a love for literature and knowledge. It’s a testament to the power of community effort and the lasting impact it can have on shaping young minds. The revitalized reading room stands as a symbol of hope and opportunity, fostering a love for learning and fostering a brighter future for these children.
