Our active support for afforestation initiatives represents our commitment to the environment. In the 2022 autumn edition, we joined hands with our colleagues and the enthusiastic children of Teach for Romania to contribute to the establishment of an Urban Forest in Ploiesti, Prahova.
250 Romanian and 50 Ukrainian volunteers, in collaboration with Padurea Copiilor and Terre des Hommes Romania, have come together to sow the first seeds of an urban forest in Ploiesti West Municipal Park. This monumental effort is a crucial part of the expansive private afforestation initiative, “Romania plants for tomorrow.”
This initiative represents a meaningful step toward nurturing a greener, healthier environment for generations to come. It’s a testament to the power of unity and the positive impact that can be achieved when communities come together with a shared goal of environmental conservation and sustainability.
The urban forest, spanning an area of 6,500 square meters, has seen the planting of 20,000 forest and ornamental saplings comprising over 30 different species. This ambitious campaign, conducted during the autumn of 2022 through spring of 2023, stands as a beacon of hope for environmental conservation and sustainability in the region.
The collaborative efforts of volunteers from both Romania and Ukraine underline the power of unity in creating positive, lasting change for our planet.
